Engineering Intern I

October 2016 • Huntsville, AL

What I liked

I enjoyed working with Microsoft Visio and Excel to complete different types of schematics. It provided a strong insight into the mechanical and electrical knowledge needed for each.

What I wish was different

I'd like to work with another software like CAD from time to time or maybe have a little more hands on activities, but I am extremely happy with the work I did and will continue doing!

Advice

Don't be afraid to make mistakes early on, and always ask for advice from the more experienced people you work with. Working hard, showing you can handle tasks on your own, and having good relationships with your coworkers is probably the best thing I could recommend.

Network Engineer

August 2010 • Fort Hood, TX

What I liked

I love my job. It provides me with awesome opportunities such as career growth, personal growth, career development, personal development, and so on.

What I wish was different

Nothing

Advice

I appreciated every moment and took advantage of every opportunity and have rose to the position I am currently at. You should never look at a position as "It's just an intern", "It's just a summer job", "It's just a temporary position"; because you never know what it can evolve to.

Software Developer Intern

June - August 2019 • Huntsville, AL

What I liked

During my internship, I learned basic programming techniques using C++. I learned the significance of running unit tests on code in order to figure out if it runs properly.

What I wish was different

My focus in information systems is cyber security. It was neat to see how code is developed from the ground up but I would have enjoyed to have more experience in cyber security related things.

Advice

Overall, I was able to meet a lot of new people who are experts in their field. I strongly feel that building relationships with people like this will help me further my career. It is important to learn as much as you can from your mentors because after all...you're getting paid to learn and soak in as much as you can for the time you have there.
