The Center for Career Development is looking for a student worker to fill the Career Ambassador position. The position is responsible for assisting with the department’s programs and events including organization and execution. This position will start in August 2023.
 
Qualities:  
  • Have a cumulative QPA of 2.5 or better.
  • Enrolled at Tennessee Tech University as an undergraduate student.
  • Maintain high regard and attitude for the University & scholarship.
  • Possess great interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
  • Detail-oriented and organizational skills are a must.
  • Integrity, punctuality, and dependability.
  • The ability to work both independently and as a team.
  • Proficient use of a computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other programs
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills while upholding professional etiquette.
  • Provide proper customer service skills when communicating with students, parents, University faculty and staff, and employers.
  • Knowlege of Canva or similar software a plus.
 
Job Duties:
  • Market the Center for Career Development's services and events such as Career Fairs and Career Readiness Workshops by creating promotional materials and performing PopUp tabling.
  • Aid with all event check-ins and setup.
  • Perform Resume and Cover Letter reviews with undergraduate students.
  • Assist with and give presentations to University Connections groups about Career Center services and resume writing.
  • Review Career Readiness applications.
  • Answer basic questions via phone calls and walk-ins related to Handshake, Job Searches, Resumes, Cover Letters, Interviews, and Major Exploration. Make student appointments.
  • Maintain confidentiality and provide assistance in processing student records, making copies, arranging meetings, and performing any other necessary tasks as requested.
  • Provide general office help and other day-to-day tasks as needed.
 
Compensation/Benefits:
  • Hourly pay rate of $12.00
  • Early registration
  • Up to 15 hours per week fulfilled during Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (Fall and Spring semesters; during events may offer additional hours).
  • We will work around your school schedule
