Career Ambassador - Digital Marketing Assistant

The Center for Career Development is looking for a student worker to fill the Career Ambassador position. The position is responsible for assisting with the department’s programs and events including organization and execution.
 
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following qualities:
 
·        Have a cumulative QPA of 2.5 or better.
·        Enrolled at Tennessee Tech University as an undergraduate student.
·        Maintain a high regard and attitude for the University & scholarship.
·        Possess great interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
· Detail-oriented and organization skills are a must.
·        Integrity, punctuality, and dependability.
·        The ability to work both independently and as a team.
·        Proficient use of a computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other programs
·        Have excellent written and oral communication skills while upholding professional etiquette.
·        Provide proper customer service skills when communicating with students, parents, University faculty and staff, and employers.
 
Job Duties:
·        Market the Career Center’s services and events such as Career Fairs and Career Readiness Workshops by creating promotional materials and performing PopUp tabling.
·        Aid with all event check-ins and setup.
·        Perform Resume and Cover Letter reviews with undergraduate students.
·        Create and schedule digital media posts.
·        Review all items on Career Readiness forms to ensure students meet all requirements and then print certificates.
·        Answer basic questions via phone calls and walk-ins related to Handshake, Job Searches, Resumes, Cover Letters, Interviews, and Major Exploration. Make student appointments.
·        Maintain confidentiality and provide assistance in processing student records, making copies, arranging meetings, and performing any other necessary tasks as requested.
·        Provide general office help and other day-to-day tasks as needed.
 
Compensation/Benefits:
·        Hourly pay rate of $10.00.
·        Up to 15 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (Fall and Spring semesters; during events may offer additional hours).
